In the last 37 days I have been home a total of 4 days and have taken 10 flights. For the last two years or so I have been living more or less in and out of a suitcase. It's no surprise that I have neglected this little blog of mine. I've been hopping so many planes that sometimes it feels like there is little space for thoughts. So on my latest trip to Kauai I tried something...
Clipped a leaf and wrote down whatever that leaf inspired. It was a lovely little exercise that gave me five minutes of pure creative output without the pressures of an impending deadline.
Outside of those five minute increments, I journeyed through Kauai. I stayed at The Palmwood which is a beautiful guesthouse that catered to all my senses. Outdoor shower, delicious meals, and is that a rooster waking me up? Are those stars? Oh yeah, I forgot about those. Is that the milky way? Kauai, now you are just showing off.
Mychael (@cookwilltravel) from The Palmwood was gracious enough to show me some secret spots on the island. This of course came at a price. One toenail, calloused feet, and 100k mosquito bites. The upside? Brilliant photos. Thank you to The Palmwood for the lovely stay and thank you Mychael for snapping some pictures of me in full Kauai bliss. I'm usually behind the camera and it was a luxury to be in front of it.
Other favorites I packed:
